TEACH PEACE

This beautiful article was written by our guest blogger Meg For It.
Picture this scene….. It’s 1965 and we cannot agree. The Vietnam war is in full swing. Back on US soil, the civil rights movement is at its height. Race riots and anti-political protests are rampant. It’s a tense time to be on either side and everyone is hoping for a peaceful revolution. (Sounds a lot like 2017 doesn’t it?) Then, singer/songwriter Jackie DeShannon writes this song:
This song meant so much at the time. But If I may add to that line, What the world needs now is love and peace. With everything going on in this world lately, no one seems to be smiling. A smile is the contagious virus that our society needs. I think it starts with US and will get spread down the generations to our little ones. We need to TEACH PEACE. Before math or science or language, our kids need to know how to treat each other. Yes We Vibe totally gets this message. They are a company that makes all sorts of apparel that celebrates the positive vibes that seem to be running low lately in this beautiful country.

I too, not only agree with this statement, but have been ‘teaching peace’ since 2004 in my own small humble way selling bumper stickers, tees and other items. I appreciate you allowing me to post about my website which I started on March 27, 2004 about teaching peace. Here’s the link www.cafepress.com/cyberpeacestore
We teach love and peace by extending grace and understanding and through example by treating people with love and kindness.
These t-shirts are so cute and it’s such a great message.
War is a crime and a sin….
LOVE is the ultimate satisfaction.
i think the best way to teach peace is to be an example. live your own life in a gentle caring manner with other people, with animals, and with the planet. teach by example and not preaching. and be an activist! get out on the streets with the protests, call your representatives. make positive noise for change!
